Supporting vital rescue services
As part of its ongoing corporate social responsibility initiative, Corefleet continues to be a major sponsor of RACQ CQ Rescue and provides the Mackay-based rescue helicopter service with a dual cab Toyota Hilux 4WD to assist in their day-to-day operations.
CQ Rescue are a not-for-profit entity that provides critical, life saving services, including air rescue, transfer and retrieval in difficult to access terrain across Central Queensland.
Having operated within the remote Central Queensland for many years, Corefleet sees this as a way of giving back to the community and supporting one of the worthiest causes in the region.
RACQ CQ Rescue CEO Martin Cleland in 2019 said he applauded Corefleet for their support of the rescue helicopter service and for their commitment to assisting the community they operated within a tough economic climate.
“RACQ CQ Rescue is a vital part of the emergency support for all workers in this region and its reassuring organisations like Corefleet appreciate the value of supporting our helicopter and that with their ongoing commitment we can continue to provide our vital aeromedical service to anyone in a time of crisis” he said.
In 2018, CQ Rescue conducted 518 tasks and is responsible for an area four times the size of Tasmania which includes the coal mining areas of Clermont, Moranbah, Collinsville, Glenden and Nebo, as well as the tourist destinations of the Whitsunday Islands and Airlie Beach.
